This category of membership is open to individual public health practitioners who do not belong to any of the existing Affiliate Member Organisations of the Society and who wish to partake of the benefits of belonging to the umbrella body, some of which are to support and enhance public and personal health through:

a. The advancement of excellence in public health practice
b. The development of health and allied workers’ capacity towards service delivery
c. The provision of a platform for networking among public health practitioners on
contemporary public health issues.
d. The coordination of public health research for use as a tool for evidence-based policy making.
e. The promotion of collaboration and cooperation among component member associations and individuals.
f. The provision of assistance to affiliate member associations to pursue and achieve the original good objectives of those organisations in a corporate and wholesome manner and in cooperation with all the other public health associations.

The overall aim of the Society is to provide a forum for promotion of public health in Nigeria by acting as a platform for multidisciplinary advancement of policies, research and interventions towards the attainment of the highest level of health for all Nigerians using preventive, curative and rehabilitative approaches.

Categories of direct individual members include:
a. Student – undergraduate
b. Practitioner and/or postgraduate students

Requirements for direct individual membership include
i. Payment of applicable registration fee

a. Student – undergraduate – N 10,000 ($10); annual retention – N10,000.00 ($10)

b. Practitioner; Postgraduate students – N30,000.00 ($30); annual retention – N20,000.00 ($20)

c. Payment can be made using our online payment platform or to the following accounts –

ii. Completion of the registration form

Note that annual renewal is not automatic. Please note that opportunities for networking, capacity building and service will be made available from time to time through the Society. You will be expected to avail yourself of such opportunities to ensure you continuously meet up with requirements for future registration.
